Music Illawarra's Performers' Competition
The Music Illawarra Performers' Competition is an annual event. It grew out of the old Junior Performers' Competition.
This competition could be compared to a small-scale Eisteddfod. However, we always endeavour to make young performers as comfortable as possible during their performances. We do not like to put the emphasis on winning huge amounts of prize money. We believe there is more value in having a good experience performing, and receiving feedback on this performance from a professional adjudicator. There are still some small prizes to be won, and they have often been donated by supporters and members of Music Illawarra.
Each year, between 100 and 200 young performers aged between 4 and 18 take part in our competition. It is a great experience for everyone involved. The 2011 syllabus will be made available in July 2011. Why not enter the competition this year?
